NDUGA - The Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) Raider 503/Mayangkara, one of the units under the HABEMA Operations Command, is actively involved in fostering youth discipline and resilience in Papua. As part of its mission in the RI-PNG Mobile Border Security Operation, the Yonif 503/Mayangkara Task Force participated in the IKS PI Kera Sakti Pasker Nduga Self-Defense Level Increase Test in Kenyam District, Nduga, Papua Pegunungan, on Monday (10/2/2025).
This self-defense level increase test serves as an important evaluation process for students, assessing their progress and skills after rigorous training sessions. Among the TNI personnel involved, Sergeant First Class Wahyu and Private First Class Hairulah not only participated but also played a key role as trainers, guiding young men and women in improving their self-defense techniques.
"We are truly proud of the dedication and progress these students have shown in mastering self-defense techniques, " said Sergeant First Class Wahyu.
Empowering Youth Through Self-Defense Training
Beyond training, the involvement of Task Force Yonif 503/Mayangkara serves as a source of motivation for local youth. The initiative encourages students to make productive use of their free time outside of school, engaging in positive social interactions through martial arts training.
"Thank you to Yonif 503/Mayangkara for guiding us from the beginning until now, " expressed Anianus, one of the students who participated in the test.
Recognizing the significance of this initiative, HABEMA Commander, Major General TNI Lucky Avianto, emphasized the importance of TNI's role in supporting community development in Papua.
"The participation of Task Force Yonif 503 Kostrad in the IKS PI Kera Sakti Pasker Nduga self-defense training is a testament to TNI’s commitment to helping communities fulfill their fundamental needs and accelerate development in the Papua region, " he stated after receiving the activity report.
